Advice for Women Struggling to Conceive


"I definitely believe where there's a will there's a way," says actress Marissa Jaret Winokur. "If you want to be a parent, you can be a parent."

The Broadway and television star is quick to point out that she understands the limitations that money puts on couples struggling with infertility or other issues that make simple pregnancy nonrealistic. "It's not inexpensive, but there are ways," she says. "I have a definite passion for trying to figure out how insurance and the government can help, because it's definitely an expensive venture to get into."

Each couple is unique and will chart a unique course to family building. Oftentimes, the idea of having a "biological child" becomes so important that parenting a child takes a backseat to the genetics of it all. Jaret Winokur offers some wisdom on this: "I can't even think of a moment where I was like, 'That is the moment that I realized that this is my biological child,' because I don't even think that it matters now."
